Yes, it is, 'moron'.

Because the government find it easier to legalise it and tax it. It is very dangerous but it's better than making it illegal. Prohibition in the USA taught a great lesson, then the alcohol was made illegally and sold on the black market. People will make it and drink it regardless of its legality, so for the sake of taxing and safety it's easier for the government to control its sale and usage.

Seriously does no one pay attention in history class? alcohol had been always legal untill the government set in prohibition, something that was very unwelcomed. Gangs rose and made a profit by smuggling and dealing alcohol so the government decided to make it legal again and tax it.

In reality marijuana is much less harmful then alcohol.
